Let us introduce one of our clients, the Bus Stops Here Foundation and their 2022 Holiday Toy Drive. The Bus Stops Here Foundation was created in 1997 by pro football player and Hall of Fame running back, Jerome Bettis. He created the foundation to provide inner-city youth with the opportunities and resources to become healthy, confident, and productive individuals of society. Jerome has always believed in leading by example and giving back to the communities that have helped him along the way. He has a strong belief that not only have his parents, teachers, and extended family shaped him into the man he is today, but also the various programs that he participated in throughout his youth. Now he believes it is his turn to make a real difference in the lives of the underprivileged youth in our society.
Throughout the years the Bus Stops Here Foundation has created different programs to help aid in their mission to provide financially challenged youth with a sense of purpose, motivation, and confidence, which will help them put their best effort forward in whatever they want to do in their lives. These various programs have provided children with mental, physical, and educational support. One of our favorite events that they hold each year is their Holiday Toy Drive.
This year’s Holiday Toy Drive is officially live and is being held from November 1st to December 14th, 2022. We help them work in partnership with numerous non-profit organizations throughout the Pittsburgh area to serve the most children during the holiday season. The toys will then be distributed by the foundation’s volunteers the following Saturday December 17, 2022 to the participating organizations. Each year the Bus Stops Here Foundation aims to serve multiple communities by receiving wishlists from these different organizations throughout the city and fulfilling those needs.
The foundation believes that the holiday season is already stressful enough for both parents and children so they should not have to worry about whether they are able to afford the certain gifts on a child’s wish list.
